Dear Friends,

Tomorrow, November 11th, is Veteran’s Day. A day to honor and thank those who have put everything on the line to serve our country. Veteran’s Day is a time to reflect on the sacrifices that everyday people make to protect not only those they love, but also complete strangers, and to defend the freedoms that we sometimes take for granted. Living in the US, we enjoy some of the most protected freedoms in the world.

To the veterans in HD 23 and beyond who may be reading this: Thank you for your service. It is people like you who have allowed America to remain the Land of the Free for nearly 250 years.

This Veteran’s Day, I am unfortunately scheduled to be in Texas for a board meeting so I will be unable to attend any local celebrations and observe this special day in person with those of you who I appreciate so deeply.

I want to give a special shout out to my father Gary Remington (Dallas) and his brothers Allen Remington (Dallas) and Gail Remington (Albany) all who served in the Navy. Thank you for your service and for setting an example for our family about what it means to serve your country with pride an honor.

In addition, to the many service men and women across HD 23 and Oregon, your unwavering commitment to freedom is a testament that current and future generations should look up to and honor. I thank you.

If you are able, I encourage you to attend one of the many Veteran’s day celebrations around HD 23. Below are just a few. Find a veteran and thank them for their service.

Downtown Albany at 11:11am
