Fellow Oregonians,
The Senate is scheduled to vote tomorrow, Tuesday, September 3 at 10:00 a.m. on the semi-amended, still-miserable $4.3 BILLION transportation package.
The House already advanced this bill on Labor Day, and I opposed it. Oregonians deserve safe roads and real accountability before paying higher taxes and fees. Unfortunately, this package simply gives ODOT another blank check without fixing the problems.
I spoke on the House Floor on Monday to share my adamant opposition to this bill. Watch it here → https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtgLTTgK9lI
Why I voted NO:
-
New taxes, same problems. No guarantee ODOT will deliver better results.
-
No real accountability. No independent oversight or clear performance metrics.
-
Wrong priorities. Bureaucracy grows, while safety, maintenance, and rural access get left behind.
The Senate is the last stop. If you agree that Oregon needs accountability before new taxes, please contact your State Senator today and urge them to vote NO.
Take 60 seconds to make your voice heard.
Thank you for speaking up.
Together, we can demand a better path forward.
Sincerely, Representative Darcey Edwards House District 31
