Transportation Special Session

This upcoming Friday, August 29, the Legislature will be convening to consider the Governor's transportation funding proposal.

Prior to the August 29th Special Session, there will be an opportunity for public testimony on Monday, August 25th, at 3pm in Hearing Room F, at the State Capitol. We want you to be able to weigh in if you'd like. Below are different ways to do that.

How to register to testify in-person or remote: 
If you'd like to testify in-person or remote, click here. Once you reach the page, click "register to testify" and fill out the form. You'll receive a confirmation email.

If you register to testify in-person, please note that you'll enter through the center State Street doors.

How to watch the public hearing online:
All public hearings are open to the public and are broadcast live. On Monday at 3pm, visit this page and click the link under live videos to watch the public hearing.

More information about the proposal

Some key elements of the proposal:

• Gas tax increase of 6¢ per gallon 
• Registration fee increase
• Title fee increase 
• Payroll tax increase from 0.1% to 0.2% 
• Road Usage Charge phased in for EVs & hybrids 
• Accountability measures for ODOT

The revenue generated by this proposal will go toward maintaining safe roads, supporting public transit, and protecting services across the state.
