CALL TO ACTION - PROTECT OREGON FARM STANDS

Rep. Lewis Photo with Ag background

The Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) is proposing new rules that could severely restrict how farm stands operate—limiting food sales, agritourism, and the economic freedom of family farms across the state.

A Call to Action from Representative Lewis

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Take Action to Protecect Oregon Farm Stands Graphics

This week, I’ve heard from farmers, small business owners, families of House District 18, and neighboring districts who are deeply concerned. DLCD’s proposals threaten to cut off critical income sources for Oregon’s small farms… Their message is clear: these rules go too far.”

Farm stands have long been a cornerstone of Oregon’s agricultural identify. Beyond offering fresh produce, they foster community connections, sustain local economies, and preserve a way of life that generations of Oregonians have worked hard to protect.  If we don’t speak up, we risk losing a tradition that connects communities and helps local families make ends meet.

Whether you’re a farmer, a neighbor, or someone who enjoys Oregon’s farm-fresh bounty, your voice matters. Let’s stand together to support Oregon’s agricultural heritage and rural way of life.
