🚨 HB 2025 Is Now the Largest Tax Hike

in Oregon History 🚨

It’s official: the non-partisan Legislative Revenue Office just confirmed that House Bill 2025—Democrats’ massive transportation package with 35+ new or increased taxes and fees—will cost you and your family $15.5 BILLION (or more) over ten years. That’s by far the largest tax hike in Oregon history.

For comparison:

The 2017 transportation package (HB 2017) raised $5.3 billion.
The 2021 Corporate Activity Tax (HB 3427) is projected to raise $12 billion.
HB 2025? It blows past them both.

Oregon Families Can't Afford This

Oregon has the 8th highest cost of living in the nation. More than half of Oregonians say they can’t afford their basic necessities. And yet, the state’s budget has more than doubled in the last decade—even as the population has flatlined or declined.

So where has all that money gone?

Not to roads and bridges.

Instead, the Democrat politicians in charge have prioritized things like bike paths to nowhere and empty buses in Portland, while letting basic infrastructure crumble.

This isn’t your fault. It’s theirs.

There Is A Better Way

Instead of asking you to pay more, Republicans are demanding better priorities.

House Bill 3982:

Keeps roads plowed and potholes filled—especially in rural Oregon.
Stabilizes ODOT by eliminating waste and prioritizing essential operations.
Redirects $134 million in climate program spending to road maintenance.
Redirects $38 million from passenger rail to preserve core infrastructure.
Prevents a projected $0.60 gas tax increase tied to the Clean Fuels Program.
Implements managerial reforms, including a new Major Projects Office to improve accountability and delivery.
Provides truckers with a tax credit for years of weight-mile tax overpayments.
Modernizes fuel tax enforcement to reduce fraud and simplify compliance.
Doesn’t raise a single tax or fee.

The Clock Is Ticking. The Process Is Broken.

The legislative session has to end in no more than 9 days, by June 29th. Democrats didn't make HB 2025 public until 88% of the session was already over. It was crafted in secret, behind closed doors. And even now, the proposal is still changing—getting more expensive and more extreme by the day.

This is terrible process. No transparency. No time. No accountability.

There is no reason to jam through a $15.5 billion tax hike in the final days of session.

HB 2025 is the wrong bill, at the wrong time, for the wrong reasons.
