Dear Friends and Neighbors,
We've concluded another productive week in the Capitol, and I am excited to share some of my priority bills as well as updates.
This week, I testified on two of my priority bills – both dealing with automotive sales. You can see my remarks below.
Auto Safety Recalls
Watch my testimony.
HB 3177 requires auto dealers to repair or replace vehicle safety components that are subject to safety recalls before selling the vehicle to the public. This protects consumers who may not know that their newly purchased vehicle is subject to a safety recall until tragedy strikes.
Auto Dealer Financing

Watch my testimony.
HB 3178 protects Oregon car buyers from manipulative sales tactics when purchasing a vehicle. It shortens the timeline for dealers to secure financing, ensures that the promised loan terms are honored, safeguards trade-ins, and improves transparency to prevent consumers from being trapped into unfavorable terms.
Watch my testimony.
Visit the Oregon Legislative Info System (OLIS) to search and track legislation through the session on topics like:
We heard testimony on my bills related to automotive sales - HB 3177 and HB 3178. We also heard testimony on HB 2330 which would establish a taskforce to study how we can protect seniors from scams and HB 3370 to strengthen our local credit unions.
We also held hearings on HB 3054 which would reduce rents for the residents of manufactured home parks.
Credit Union Lobby Day

I met with HD 30 constituents to talk about the vital role of credit unions in our community.

February is Black History Month—a time to honor the contributions of Black Americans and reflect on the lasting impact of slavery and systemic racism. While this month is an opportunity to celebrate history, culture, and achievements, it also serves as a reminder of our responsibility to confront injustice every day.
