Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I hope that you are enjoying a safe and fun-filled summer. There are some great things happening in the district. Check out the information below!
Hillsboro Ballpark Groundbreaking
This week, I joined other elected officials and community members to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new stadium at the Hillsboro Ballpark. Set to open in 2026, it will host the Hillsboro Hops as well as outdoor concerts and other cultural events. The stadium, which will be owned by the City of Hillsboro, is a joint venture between our city, county, and state governments as well as numerous private-sector partners – including the Hillsboro Hops. It will be a world-class venue and an asset to our community for decades to come.

Washington County Law Library Tour
My staff enjoyed a thoughtful tour of the Washington County Law Library. This vital public resource ensures access to legal information, resources, and tools. Serving an average of 3,825 people a month, it is essential to both legal professionals and self-represented people who are navigating the court system.
The Washington County Law Library offers:
-
Free access to legal materials;
-
Private space for legal research,
-
Affordable print and copy center; and
-
Court Forms Center for self-represented community members.
Grant Applications Open for $8 Million to Support Economic Equity

Land & Property: Down payment assistance, foreclosure prevention, and community land trusts.
-
Business Development: Loans, grants, equipment, and professional services.
-
Workforce Training: Internships, apprenticeships, and job readiness programs.
-
Wealth Building: Children's savings accounts, debt reduction, and credit counseling.
Managing Hot Weather
As we anticipate warming weather throughout the summer, it is important to be aware of your nearest county operated cooling shelters. If experiencing extreme heat in the coming months, Washington County maintains five cooling centers with hours that extend into the evening and two 24-hour, no-turn-away shelters in Beaverton and Hillsboro. See StayCoolWashingtonCounty.com for details.
