Community Engagement Opportunity on Recent Dam Drawdowns

We've continued to monitor the ongoing fallout as a result of the recent drawdown of the Green Peter Dam in our local communities, and wanted to share another opportunity for folks impacted to hear and ask questions from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers directly. As we've stressed before, the deep drawdown is the result of a Federal Judge's injunction in 2021 and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is required to comply. They will be joining the townhall virtually.

On Monday, November 20th at 5:30pm the City of Sweet Home will host a Water Quality Information Session with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This meeting will be available both virtually or at City Hall. The city would like to note that capacity in Council Chambers is limited to 88 people, and as a result the event may become standing room only. The City of Sweet Home is also streaming the meeting via the Microsoft Teams platform and asks the public to consider this option. To view the meeting live, online visit https://www.sweethomeor.gov/commu.../page/community-meetings

If you don't have access to the internet you can call in to 541-367-5128, choose option #1 and enter the meeting ID to be logged in to the call. The meeting ID code is: 237 658 862 199

The meeting will also be streamed live at the Jim Riggs Community Center, located at 880 18th Avenue in Sweet Home. The city asks that you send in your questions in advance to cpretty@sweethomeor.gov so that they can ensure you have your questions answered. Sweet Home will send out a link to their virtual meeting soon.

Once again, please consider attending either virtually or in-person on Monday, November 20th at 5:30pm! Sweet Home City Hall is located at 3225 Main St. Sweet Home, OR 97386.
