June 2023 Newsletter
Hello Friends,
Happy Juneteenth! Our first session together has come to an end. I learned a lot and was able to pass two bills. Thankful for the opportunity to serve you all and I hope to continue to serve for as long as you will have me. I am also thankful for the Republicans for coming back and finishing the job. We have secured abortion rights and gender affirming care this session for Oregonians, and we hope to accomplish more in the future. Stay tuned for Summer!
Happy Juneteenth! On June 19th, we commemorate the triumph of resilience, the power of hope, and the spirit of emancipation. Let us come together, in solidarity, to celebrate Juneteenth and pave the way for a future of equality, justice, and true freedom for all. Thank you to our House Majority Office for compiling dates and events for us to share with you!
Legislative leaders reached an agreement that will make sure Senate Republicans get back to work, Oregon values are protected, and we can deliver on urgent commitments to take action on homelessness, public safety, health care, and protect abortion access. It’s clear there’s more to do to stop Republican obstruction, protect our democracy, and build trust in our government institutions. That’s why I’m proud to support the Simple Majority Resolution (HJR 30), a fix that will let us get to work with interruptions.

Providence leaves the table amidst contract negotiations. Here are my thoughts.
We must support the employees that keep our healthcare running! Providence Leadership, let’s get back to the negotiation table with the nurses and patient care.
See you all at my next Pizza for the People! July 7.
OREGON DMV BREACH
The Oregon Department of Transportation Driver and Motor Vehicles Division (DMV) has had a data breach that included unauthorized access to up to 90% of Oregonians' data, including driver's license information.
This hack is part of a global technology hack that affected more than 2,000 organizations worldwide who use the MOVEit transfer software tool, including the Louisiana DMV, the U.S. Department of Energy, and others.
Individuals who have an active credential (license, permit, ID card) should assume information related to that credential is part of the breach.
