The Senate and their 13 Strong

For all those that have not been keeping up with the latest news here in the Capitol, the Senate Republicans are 13 strong. Senate Republicans have been fighting tooth and nail in an attempt to delay the passage of these unjust bills: examples are HB 2002 and HB 2005. We stand with our Colleagues in what they are doing and why they are doing it.

First meeting for my Legislative Assistant

Representative Wright

Our very own Legislative Assistant took her first meeting with Lane Community College Students and advocates who came to our office to advocate for Community College funding. These young men and women shared their personal stories and how they would benefit from this funding. "It was an honor to be able to see the faces of our constituents and get to interact with them in this meeting. These young men and women have such bright futures ahead of them. I hope that we can get them what they need to be able to succeed and better the future for all of those whom they cross paths with." - Ali Ruiz

Representative Wright

To no one's surprise we all had to get a slice of the delicious apple pie baked by the amazing homeschool families. This Apple Pie Day, May 4th, Representative Wright met with all 20 kids from the Wheatland Learning Pod, these young kids are middle school age. Meeting 3 days a week in half days, Wheatland Learning Pod provides alternative to traditional homeschooling and traditional public school. Smaller classrooms, provides a one-on-one approach which is often lost in our large public-school spaces, but keeps students in a classroom structured learning environment which traditional homeschooling doesn’t often provide. Students study all basic school subjects as well as performing art skills.
