Hello Friends,
I wanted to share with you all an update from the capital! There is a lot going on right now and if you have been keeping up with the news you may know about the walkouts on the Senate side. Right now, a lot is being held up in committees as nothing is moving through the Senate Floor, we are hoping that by the end of this week that will change. People are very divided on the topic of HB 2002 which passed the House a few weeks ago. However, there is a process and currently, we are not holding up our end for the people of Oregon. There is a lot to unpack with this topic and I do not want to spend my time with you all going over the nuance and everyday issues with this topic. So, I will leave that there. I want to share with you all some amazing things that have been happening instead. Please check out the bottom of the newsletter with an important message.

I wanted to share this scholarship opportunity with you all! This scholarship is for people who are graduating high school from Oregon High Schools. I am hoping that this scholarship can help somebody within my community. If you have any questions, please reach out to the email listed at the bottom of the graphic.
Our bill on taking out racist language of property deeds has passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on the 8th of this month. It is now heading to the Senate Floor. I am look forward to the Senate hearing on the floor. I will be keeping you all updated on this progress.
This month is Asian American Pacific Islander Awareness Month. I wanted to share with you all my deep appreciation for my community and for the people who have led me to where I am today. I want you all to know that I try my best to representant you all in the House and I will do everything in my power to ensure that.
I am looking forward to the next session as this one comes to an end so I can continue to bring bills forth and support bills that I believe will make my community and my district stronger!

Over this last weekend I was fortunate to meet Congressman Earl Blumenauer, where we discussed priorities on how to make safer communities for Asian Americans and for people in general. While I was unable to go to the Rise Above Hate event that took place on May 6th, I was pleased to hear that we are moving in a direction to more inclusion. Thank you, Congressman Blumenauer, for meeting with us!
