Representative Anna Scharf

Dear Friends,

Please take the time to read through this newsletter to see this week's important updates. Needless to say, this week has been long and extremely challenging. This week was one of the darkest weeks for House District 23 and for all of Oregon.

As always, thank you for your continued support. Please contact my office with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

1

Anna Scharf
State Representative - HD 23

Monday was a devastating day for Oregon. Even after 10 hours of debate, factual evidence as to why House Bill 2002 B was not ready to be voted out of the House, and a clear violation of the Oregon Constitution, House Rules, and Oregon’s Revised Statute - the Democratic majority continued to move this bill forward. Read more here and watch one of my five speeches given on the House floor below.

***Although this bill passed in the House, it has not yet passed in the Senate. Contact your State Senator and request their NO vote!***

On Tuesday, HB 2005 B passed with another partisan vote. This bill is an unconstitutional afront to our Second Amendment right to bear arms, which is why House Republicans have already pledged $25,000 to support impending litigation. Please read more here and watch my floor speech below.

Last week, Rep. Scharf gave a remonstrance on the House Floor regarding her concern of recent actions by the Secretary of State – inappropriate use of state funds for traveling, and lobbying for the Secretary of State budget with email addresses from private business owners whom are required to register with the Secretary of State.

Coinciding with Rep. Scharf’s remonstrance, she also submitted a complaint to the Oregon Government Ethics Commission last Friday with concerns of the side contract Shemia Fagan had with La Mota – earning $30,000 from the cannabis company her state agency also audits.

If the former Secretary of State did not resign, there is no recourse for impeachment, which is why HJR 16 is so important. Please read more here and watch my remonstrance below.
