Joint Ways and Means Committee in Roseburg

It was amazing to see the hundreds of people who showed up to speak at the Joint Ways and Means Committee in Roseburg last Friday. I want to thank my colleagues that joined us as well.

House Republicans Vote to Lower Taxes

On Tax Day (April 18), House Republicans voted to withdraw several key bills that would have repealed the Corporate Activity Tax on all goods and services, repeal the Oregon Death Tax, and exempt thousands of small businesses from the Corpoarate Activity Tax. Democrats voted each bill down.

House Republicans Vote to Protect Oregonians from Environmental Hazards

Earlier this week House Republicans made an effort to bring several environmental bills to a vote on the House Floor. Democrats blocked each bill.

Legislative Update

HB 2002 - the abortion and gender-affirming care bill - and HB 2005 - the omnibus gun control bill - are up for third and final vote in the House. I am vehemently opposed to both. My colleagues across the aisle continue to push legislation to the extremes. Oregonians will remember their actions.

Thank you,
