Representative Anna Scharf

Dear Friends,

Only 57 more days left of session, and there is still much to be done. Especially since we haven't yet passed the bulk of our budget which constitutionally needs to be balanced prior to Sine Die.

I hope this week's highlights provide you with helpful information as I try to keep HD 23 informed throughout the session.

As always, thank you for your continued support. Please reach out with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

1

Anna Scharf
State Representative - HD 23

HB 2002B is scheduled to be voted on the House Floor on Monday, May 1st. Of course, I am adamantly opposed to this bill and have been very vocal about my opposition for the exact reasons listed below.

House Republicans introduced legislation that would benefit Oregonians as listed below. Unfortunately, the majority party declined to move forward with these common sense policies to lower your taxes. Although many of these bills received bi-partisan support, in the end, they died in committee.

In recognition of Earth Day earlier this week, House Republicans attempted to withdraw several pieces of legislation that would have protected Oregon from future environmental hazards. Unfortunately, the majority party declined these motions and once again, the legislature missed out on a great opportunity to make positive common sense policy changes.

Earlier this week, I shared my concerns on the House Floor regarding the use of public funds for private business. Please watch my remonstrance below.

The Oregon Department of Agriculture released the top 20 agricultural commodities in 2022! The vast majority of these commodities are grown, harvested, and processed in House District 23!
