Educator in the Spotlight!

Amy Fifth-Lince, social studies and economics teacher from Liberty High School, has been recognized by the Oregon State Treasurer as the Financial Empowerment Educator of the Year. She received nine nominations for the award, most of them from her students. Her personal finance class includes information on banking, budgeting, renting a house, moving expenses, credit cards, credit scores, and much more.

Ms. Fifth-Lince is an incredible educator who is giving her students the knowledge to make sound financial decisions for the rest of their lives. I am so grateful that she is teaching our youth in District 30!

"Invest in Our Planet” is the theme for Earth Day 2023. Earth Day is used to bring awareness to communities around the globe that we have the power to collectively create a more sustainable world. The celebration serves as a reminder of the importance of dedicating time and resources toward solving the climate crisis and other environmental issues, engaging the next generation, and taking action to create change.

If you are looking for ways you can invest in our planet every day, the City of Hillsboro has put together some ideas to help you take positive action in 2023.
