We Are Halfway Through

Hello everyone,

I hope all is well with you all. We are now halfway through the Legislative session! Ambitious bills are being brought to the House Floor and important strides are being made with new legislation being introduced. I look forward to the rest of the session and continue to represent House District 38 here in Salem!

HB 3294 updates

hb 3294

I am happy to announce that our bill has gotten out of the Judiciary Committee unanimously! To recap this bill is about restrictive convents. This bill would allow homeowners to bring their deeds forward to the County Clerks to get racist language removed from their deeds. Furthermore, we worked together with the County Clerk's office, and the Oregon Land Title Association to get the bill to a point that was best for everyone. This bill will be heading to House Floor soon.

Town Hall

townhall

The Townhall is going to be happening April 23rd from 1pm to 2pm.

Who will be in attendance:

Myself, Representative Daniel Nguyen, Representative Jules Walters, Senator Rob Wagner, Mayor Joe Buck

We all look forward to speaking with you all and getting the chance to meet you all as well.

Senate Bill 4

April 6th, 2023, the Oregon House successfully passed Senate Bill 4, also known as Oregon CHIPS, with broad bipartisan support. Now it heads to the Governor’s desk! This bipartisan effort will open the door for Oregon to leverage once-in-a-generation federal dollars to solidify our place as a global leader in the semiconductor industry. Furthermore, the Oregon CHIPS will create good-paying, long-term jobs in every corner of the state. Oregon CHIPS will keep Oregon’s economy stable and competitive in the 21st Century. With this bill, Oregon is bolstering national security and protecting the United States’s supply chain for everything from credit cards to cars by onshoring critical technology supply chains.

I was proud to serve on the committee that over saw the formation of this bill and worked diligently to gather as much information from both sides to learn about how this bill would affect Oregonians. Below you can see my testimony on House Chamber Floor and you too can watch the conversation that took place around this bill:
