Bad Bill Alert
Up for a Senate Judiciary Committee Vote Today at 1:00
Don't Let Convicted Murderers, Child Rapists or Other Convicted Felons Vote From Prison!
Hello Friends,
There is a bill being pushed by the members of the Senate Committee on Judiciary that will allow convicted felons, serving time in prison, the right to vote in elections in Oregon.
Yes, that is not a typo, SB 579 (Click Here for the bill) will: "Allows persons convicted of felony to register to vote, update voter registration and vote in elections while incarcerated."
This would allow a convicted child rapist, who is incarcerated, the ability to vote against the very County Sheriff that arrested them, the District Attorney who prosecuted them and the Judge who sentenced them. They should serve their time for theirs crimes first!
Please see my remonstrance on the Senate Floor speaking against this! (Click Here)
Time is running out to contact the supportive members of the Senate Judiciary to ask them to oppose this bill You ONLY have until 1:00 pm today, Thursday, March 9th
