The Office of Small Business Assistance (OSBA) serves as the statewide ombudsman for Oregon’s small businesses. Businesses and nonprofits with 100 or fewer employees can utilize OSBA when they need help interacting with state and local government agencies. OSBA works collaboratively with small businesses, government agencies, and technical assistance providers to make navigating state and local government easier. They hope to engage with constituents from HD 23 and lend support for any small businesses.

According to a recent survey from the Oregon Business Industry, only 18% of small business respondents believe state lawmakers care about the success of their business. Being a small business owner myself, I can relate to this. Please take advantage of this meeting with OSBA and see how they might be able to assist.

I've always been a strong supporter of law enforcement, but even more so of the outstanding law enforcement agencies in House District 23!

Shout out to Deputy Stevenson for receiving a Letter of Commendation from the City of Dallas Fire & EMS for his quick response and life-saving care in responding to a CPR call. Our first responders are critical and I hope to see them fully funded. You can watch my remonstrance here.

The Public Utility Commission (PUC) approved a rate increase for Portland General Electric (PGE) just a few months ago for a total average of 12.8%. This week, PGE requested an additional rate increase beginning in 2024. The proposal averages a rate increase of 14%, ranging from 10% for industrial to 15.7% for residential customers. PUC has not yet made a ruling on this request. Click here to learn more.
