Monday February 13th the Senate Committee on Natural Resources heard testimony on SB 634. The City of Reedsport submitted written testimony in support of the bill.

The bill authorizes issuance of lottery bonds for deposit in Levee Project Grant Fund.

In support of SB 634, Reedsport City Manager, Deann Schafer said, "the lowest lying area of the city is protected by a levee that was constructed in 1969 as a result of the flood of 1964 that wiped out much of the community." She also spoke about the economic reality of the small city of Reedsport and the need that is required to fix the failing levee system.
