I wanted to share the week we had.
This week, two critical bills of mine were heard in committees and received overwhelming support.
HB 2431 - Prohibits the termination of health care for individuals residing in a correctional facility pending adjudication of charges.
HB 2433 - Increases the Corporate Activity Tax (CAT) threshold from $1 million to $5 million.
HB 2431 would give much-needed breathing room for our counties and county sheriff's offices that operate within tight budgets.
HB 2433 would protect thousands of small businesses from the CAT, giving them the opportunities to increase wages, hire more employees, and lower costs for consumers.
As we continue to progress through the legislative session, I greatly look forward to providing you with more updates on these critical pieces of legislation.
