Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The holidays are a busy time. Before Santa arrives, legislators and their staff are working at a fever-pitch to file their bills to meet the December 21st pre-session deadline.

Last week, legislators met at the Capitol for Interim Committee Days. We heard updates from state agencies and various stakeholders on past legislation, received information on the status of Interim Committee Work Groups and got a preview of some of the bills and issues we will be working on in the coming session.

We return to Salem on January 9th to be sworn in, attend training, organize the session and settle into our offices in time to kick-off the 2023 Session on January 17th. We expect to receive our committee assignments soon which will set the table for our work to come.

Government operates best when citizens are involved. This session, I look forward to hearing from you on the bills and issues most important to you. Stay tuned for my January legislative update to hear more about what’s happening in your Capitol in 2023.
