Happy Spring

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Happy (early) Spring! I hope you are all enjoying a little more light and warmth these days, and yes, even a little bit of rain. Below, I have several updates to share with you, especially as this time of year means that we are approaching the legislative communications “blackout period.”

The “blackout period” refers to the 60 days ahead of primary and general elections when legislative members are barred from using state resources to send out communications. This year, the window is Friday, March 18-Wednesday, May 18. Therefore, this will be my last newsletter before the primary election on May 17.

Although I will not be able to send out e-blasts for events and other activities from our state resources, I encourage you to follow my social media pages to keep up with activities I’m involved in and learn more about upcoming events. In the meantime, my office will continue to respond to individual constituent emails, and we look forward to continuing regular communications in May.

Senator James I. Manning Jr represents North Eugene, West Eugene, Santa Clara, and Junction City in the Oregon State Senate.
