SB 1529 gives the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) even more power than they currently have by allowing this state agency to declare a public health emergency.
SB 1529 received a public hearing yesterday in the House Committee on Health Care and is scheduled for a work session tomorrow. You have until 3:15pm today to submit your written opposition to this bill.
Please send in your opposition to this legislation. We cannot allow OHA any further authority!

Today, the House Committee on Education will vote on SB 1521 which limits the ability of your local school board to terminate the school district superintendent. I am strongly opposed to this legislation as I believe this action removes parent and local control. Once again we are being mandated to follow a one-size fits all government.
