2020, 2021
If I were to summarize the last two years in Oregon, I would use the description found in CS Lewis’ children’s classic, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe:
“Always Winter and Never Christmas.”
Thankfully, we still have Christmas in Oregon; however the Governor just gave Oregonians a lump of coal in their stockings. Her announcement earlier this week basically said: “Forever the State of Emergency” by extending her emergency declaration another 6 months. This allows the Oregon Health Authority to continue their work on permanent masking rules — that’s right, never-to-end masking with $500 daily fines to shop keepers and merchants who do not enforce her rules. Meanwhile, earlier in this month the Governor enjoyed a dinner and evening at an awards gala — indoors, in close proximity to hundreds of others, without her mask, as seen in this photo.

What’s more, OHA is working on a digital vaccine passport system to be introduced in March 2022. OHA claims it will be voluntary. However, that is how masks and vaccines started — voluntary — until the Governor changed her mind and instantly made them mandatory. Don’t be fooled again. The goal is for all Oregonians to comply to her wishes or stay home until “fully vaccinated”, an ever-changing term defined by government. Once mandatory, there will be no admission into the public square unless your digital passport is shown and your behavior has been approved by the Governor. All this is being done outside of your Legislature, due to powers granted directly to the Governor, when a “state of emergency” is declared.

What Is Your Legislature Doing?
So far, the Democrat majority-led legislature has done absolutely nothing in regards to the Governor’s never-ending State of Emergency. Early this year, Democrats in the House of Representatives voted to block debate, essentially stopping my resolution, HJR 18, to end the Governor’s declared emergency. If your State Representative voted Nay, you need to let them know you are watching, and you are not pleased!
We must end the Governor’s State of Emergency. As long as it remains in effect, the Governor can enforce rules and penalties bypassing the citizen law-making body in the state — your Legislature. In essence, the State of Emergency sidelines your Legislature, making it powerless. After nearly two years of this dictator-style government, Democrat lawmakers continue obliging their Governor. The State of Emergency must end in order to restore fairness, health and economic prosperity to Oregon.
2022 Will Be a Defining Year For Oregon
In 2022 we will see if Oregonians value their freedom by standing up to the Governor and voting. When the government fears the people there is freedom; when the people fear the government there is tyranny. As I’ve written above, the continual State of Emergency shuts down your Legislature by not protecting your rights or freedom. Legislators must be elected who value your rights and freedom. It’s time for you to take a stand. Your single vote is not enough—you need to engage five people who have never voted, to get involved and vote. Elections happen in May and November 2022.
That said, don’t wait until election time. Get involved now! Write your legislators and Oregon Health Authority telling them to end the Governor’s State of Emergency, and to end masking and vaccine mandates. As an elected official I can tell you first hand—public pressure works. To find your state legislator go here, click the Find Your Legislator button and type in your address. You can also join groups like Restore Oregon Now, Free Oregon, Oregon Mom’s Union Foundation or get involved with your local political party.
Educate yourself on the efficacy of wearing a mask. This article does an excellent job summarizing 14 such scientific studies. Seriously consider not wearing a mask. The science behind wearing masks to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2 is dubious. Even Dr. Fauci only claims that masking is an extra layer of protection. However, this has never been accurately defined. Fauci expects you to trust and obey. Currently, Oregon is only one of five states in the nation continuing mask-mandates. Most Americans in other states are living free, pre-pandemic lives without mask-mandates, including Oregon’s own Governor Brown. Why must Oregonian citizens continue to suffer in this paranoid delusion of the Governor’s over-reaching power?
This graph shows the last time indoor mask mandates were put into effect in Oregon by the Governor’s edict, which had zero effect on the case-rate in Oregon — instead, cases rose and declined naturally. Lately, I’ve seen more and more people in public without a mask, especially after the Governor was caught not wearing a mask at a large indoor event. It’s good to see actual faces smiling once again!

Merry Christmas
Finally, be of good cheer. We are thankful for many blessings received. Enjoy Christmas with those closest to you. Christmas is a reminder that even in the darkest hour, God demonstrated His love for us by sending us His son, the Savior.
Come the New Year, let’s be united as a people—ready to stand firm against the tyranny in our state. The enemies of liberty will not admit doing wrong or wave a white flag; we must defeat them. Together we can turn Oregon around, but it will take our courage; our time, our talent and treasure; it will take perseverance; And most of all, it will take all of us.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
