SINE DIE

3

After a long six-months in a historic session, the Oregon Legislature officially adjourned the 2021 Legislative Session. With the people’s work being conducted virtually as the Capitol was not open to the public, trying to navigate through the political process was interesting to say the least.

Upon adjournment, here is some important legislation that will benefit Oregonians:

  • HB 2738 – Full and adequate funding for CASA.
  • HB 2646 – Regulating kratom products and protecting minors.
  • HB 2648 – Allowing behind the counter sales of Sudafed products.
  • HB 2607 – Supporting wildfire victims.
  • HB 2644 – Recognizing our veterans.
  • HB 2650 – Supporting law enforcement and K9 units.
  • HB 3047 – Strengthening privacy protections.
  • HB 3318 – Updating building codes to allow for dog training classes.
  • SB 574 – Allowing lane sharing with certain restrictions...vetoed by Governor.
  • Funding for HD 25:
    • $1.25m Chehalem Cultural Center
    • $32m Newberg Dundee Bypass
    • $696,000 St. Paul Water System
    • $54,000 Butteville Landing
    • $400,000 City of Newberg
    • $800,000 City of Keizer

It’s been a busy session with more legislation and committees than ever before. There were a number of pressing issues we had to address related to the pandemic, devastating natural disasters, and the budget.

I’m very proud of the amount of legislation I was able to pass which required me to work closely across party lines. Next up, redistricting in the upcoming September Special Session.
