Joint Legislative Emergency Board Meets Today at 1:00 pm
The Joint Legislative Emergency Board relating to Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) and Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Securities (CARES) meets today at 1:00 pm online only to have a work session on the following items:
- Department of Administrative Services - Project Turnkey Pandemic Response
2. Department of Administrative Services - Project Turnkey Wildfire Response 3. Housing and Community Services Department - Shelter Support 4. Department of Education - Financial Support for Wildfire Impacted Schools 5. Department of Administrative Services - Statewide Alert System 6. Department of Transportation - Wildfire Debris Removal 7. Legislative Fiscal Office and Department of Administrative Services - CRF and CARES Act Expenditures Report
OHCS is requesting $10 M from the Emergency Board to support shelters across the state with a particular focus on communities impacted by wildfire. These resources are needed as sheltering costs are higher with the non-congregant model, as each existing facility must serve less people. Another request before the Emergency Board tomorrow is for Project Turnkey, an effort to purchase hotel/motels to use as non-congregant shelter across the state and in wildfire impacted communities. These request help those impacted by wildfire and Oregonians experiencing homelessness in avoiding COVID infections through non-congregant shelter.
PLEASE NOTE: The Capitol Building is currently closed to the public. The meeting will be held online and streamed live, which can be accessed from the OLIS Emergency Board page at the website below. A viewing station will also be available outside on the front steps of the Capitol Building.
