Slater Fire is new conflagration as of today
TwoFourTwo Fire in Klamath
- 11,000 acres, 30 structures lost. Holiday Farm Fire (McKenzie River)
-
Significant loss. Today they worked to access the main road to continue to find individuals who need help.
-
Last account, they also were able to rescue patients in a facility, but they do expect to see significant lost in this area.
Beachie Creek (now being referred to as the Santiam Fire)
-
Responding to 911 calls in the canyon, patchworks where homes are still there. Significant loss to the town of Detroit, and area of Breitenbush.
-
Two fatalities in a vehicle.
-
When the fire broke through on Labor Day evening, the Incident Management team building was destroyed, including most of their firefighting tools and trucks.
-
Sent Army Corps of Engineers to begin critical assessment of both dams in the area.
Henry Hagg is another conflagration for today.
Bald Peak Fire does have a box around it now, but they did lose homes.
Riverside Fire in Clackamas
- Within Estacada and continuing to push West. Office of state fire marshall on unified command there. Many fires burning in Clackamas county. All resources were disengaged as it pushed them out.
Santiam Fire continues to push north and has merged with Lion’s Head Fire.
All fires being responded to at this time are uncontained. Basic priorities are evacuation and life safety.
Only after that can we go back in to find people who need assistance.
We have never seen anything quite like this in our lifetime. That said I confident in our state forestry team and firefighters ability to contain these fires as soon as humanly possible. I am also encouraged by what I see in Oregonians helping other Oregonians to cope with loss of property and, in some cases, loved ones. That is the true Oregon spirit. Stay safe everyone.
