Oregon's 161st Birthday!

Representative Bill Post

I wanted to send out a quick update of this week's events in the Capitol. In case you missed it, be sure to read this Capital Chatter article as it goes into further details about SB 1530 and HB 4159 (both relating to climate change) being passed out of committee on a party line vote.

Today is Oregon's 161st Birthday! I love this state for her beauty and innovative spirit, and I am honored to represent House District 25. I want to see Oregon's economy continue to thrive, which is why my colleagues and I are working hard to defeat SB 1530. Oregonian's deserve better than this legislation. I will always stand up for Oregonians and our way of life.

Not all bills are controversial this session. With the support of my colleagues, my land use bill (HB 4014) passed on the House Floor with unanimous support and has been referred to the Senate Committee on Environment and Natural Resources.

Next week, my kratom bill, (HB 4013) should go to the House Floor for a vote. After much work on this bill with stakeholders, I am excited to see this legislation move forward. Read more here

Here are a fun few moments throughout this week. I hope you all have a lovely Valentine's Day and a great weekend.
