Dear Friends,
With school starting and thoughts turning to football and the cooler weather ahead, I thought it would be a good time to meet for coffee and conversation.
Rep. Jeff Barker and I have scheduled a September 14 town hall at the Beaverton Library. Like always, we will provide coffee and snacks.
We have a lot to talk about, especially with the new Student Success Act officially becoming state law on October 1, 2019.
We are also preparing for the February session, which is the “short” session limited to 35 days. These sessions are designed to make mostly small policy changes and budget rebalances.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this and other issues facing our state. My biggest wins in the legislature are always those that originate from constituents at home.

Please join us for a cup of coffee and snacks on the 14th.

Everybody loves a parade
One of the best parades in Oregon—and maybe the only one in September—is the Beaverton Celebration Parade. I’ll be in there marching along with brass bands, floats and everyone else. It’s a great time for kids.
This year, the parade will start at Griffith Park and head west on SW 5th St and then end on SW Menlo Drive near SW Berthold Ave. Here’s the website for more information. Hope to see you out there!
