Summer Review

E. Werner Reschke

Here's A Quick Review of Summer

It’s good to reflect on the fun, warm days of summer.

During the interim, when the State Legislature is not in Session, my calendar was full of events in southern Klamath & Lake Counties, as well as traveling to and from Salem for Committee meetings.

I was honored to be part of the Red Rock Biofuel’s ground breaking ceremony.

RRB is a $200+ million bio-mass project that will use the materials collected from thinning forests to prevent wild fires, and convert these materials into low carbon diesel and jet fuel. A few big names including: Southwest Airlines, Federal Express and the US Navy have signed up to be customers of this new and exciting product made right here in Lake County Oregon!

I toured the new housing for OHSU graduate students.

OHSU graduates have Oregon Tech as part of their rotation. It is a great to see this investment in downtown Klamath Falls. I am proud of the positive impression of a quality living environment for many who will live and be introduced to our community for the first time.

Summer is fun with county fairs and parades.

I had a great time at Klamath County Fair this year with many supporters visiting my booth to say hello. I enjoyed the Lake County Round-Up Labor Day parade and seeing many familiar faces. A great time had by all!

Other summer events

My summer activities included several Carbon Reduction Committee meetings in Salem, talking at the Klamath County Rotary Club, visiting a Lakeview Brownfield site with Congressman Walden, touring a veterans home for men in Klamath Falls, attending the investiture of Dr. Nagi Naganathan at Oregon Tech, and InventOR Collegiate Challenge, as well as helping constituents on a myriad of issues, and much more.

As the weather cools and leaves change colors with autumn approaching, I turn my attention to legislation for the upcoming Oregon Session which begins in January 2019. It is an honor to serve and represent the people of Southern Klamath & Lake Counties. Thank you for the opportunity and for all your support and feedback.

Best Regards,
