New Webpage on Data Centers, Enterprise Zone Applications Q&A
To provide accurate information to Hillsboro community members, the City of Hillsboro has launched a dedicated webpage on data centers with answers to recent questions, including:
- Why have Enterprise Zone applications for data centers recently increased?
- Who reviews applications?
- Will there be more discussion?
|
|
From the Data Centers Webpage:
Key details about Enterprise Zone applications that haven't been shared on social media:
- The City of Hillsboro is required to process Enterprise Zone applications in compliance with State law and local policy.
- Each application covers a period of 3 to 5 years, the maximum exemption period allowed.
- Given the approval process timeline prior to the State-imposed moratorium on Enterprise Zone applications by data centers, which begins on June 6, 2026, the City of Hillsboro does not anticipate any additional data center applications could be submitted as of now.
