Secretary of Commerce in Hillsboro
Hidden Creek Community Center hosted U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, Governor Tina Kotek, Senator Ron Wyden, Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici, and industry partners as part of Secretary Raimondo’s visit to Hillsboro in support of the CHIPS and Science Act.
Mayor Callaway along with City staff, including Robby Hammond, Dan Dias, Kristi Wilson, Lauren Scott, and Jim Reilly helped in welcoming the Secretary to Hillsboro.
Senate Bill 4 Signed into Law
Governor Kotek signed SB 4 into law today, April 13. The successful bipartisan legislation represented an important first step to bolster Oregon’s semiconductor industry, seize a historic federal funding opportunity, and support America’s national security.
The City of Hillsboro is currently reviewing the details of Senate Bill 4 to understand what the implications could be for Oregon’s future — and how it could help Hillsboro support the State’s pursuit of this opportunity to earn billions of dollars in semiconductor investments and the associated jobs created.

Naturalization Ceremony at the Civic Center
Family and friends cheered as 40 applicants from 23 countries took the Oath of Allegiance inside the auditorium at the Civic Center in March.
The event marked the third time the Library has hosted a naturalization ceremony in partnership with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
