National GED® Day – September 16 Mark your calendars! National GED® Day is September 16, and it's a moment to celebrate the dedication, perseverance, and accomplishments of GED® learners, graduates, educators, and supporters across the country. This day honors the transformational power of education, and the brighter futures made possible through the GED® pathway.

Save the Date: 2025 Oregon Adult Basic Skills Conference – October 28 Join us virtually on October 28, 2025, for the Oregon Adult Basic Skills Conference—a dynamic event focused on Growing and Enriching Foundations in adult education. This free, one-day conference will empower educators and leaders with practical tools, innovative strategies, and inclusive practices to better serve adult learners across GED®, ABE, ESL, and corrections programs.

From integrating learning standards and leveraging digital platforms to using data for program improvement and building strong community partnerships, this conference is your opportunity to grow, collaborate, and create lasting impact.

Are Your GED® Test Takers Needing an ID Waiver?

For a person to take the GED® test in Oregon, they must have an unexpired state or government issued ID. In the event a person cannot obtain an ID due to extenuating circumstances, an ID waiver can be requested with the State GED Administrator™. These requests must be submitted in advance of testing and can take up to two weeks for processing with GED Testing Services® and Pearson Vue. If you have a question about this process, please reach out to Stephanie White at stephanie.white@hecc.oregon.gov. ID waivers should be submitted to our general inbox, oregon.ged@hecc.oregon.gov.
