We want to share some news regarding psilocybin rulemaking.
Oregon Health Authority (OHA) will not be moving forward with the current psilocybin rulemaking process that would have included increased license fees.
Based on feedback OHA has received through the Oregon Psilocybin Advisory Board (OPAB), rule advisory committees (RACs) and rulemaking public comment period, the agency will not adopt final rules as a result of this rulemaking process.
In the coming weeks, OHA will begin a new rulemaking process to consider proposed rules that are unrelated to proposed fee changes, with a planned effective date of Jan. 15, 2027. Information about the new rulemaking will be posted on the psilocybin program’s Administrative Rules and Rulemaking Process webpage as information is available. Notification will be sent when the public comment period opens on that rulemaking, which is anticipated in December.
Also, in the coming weeks, OHA will post documents on the psilocybin program website in response to questions and requests on the psilocybin budget.
