OHA seeks public comment on draft request to extend Oregon's SUD 1115 waiver
Oregon Health Authority (OHA) plans to request a five-year extension from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) 1115 Waiver Demonstration. If approved, the waiver would continue from April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2031.
The SUD 1115 waiver extension will include the opportunity for implementing Community Transition Services and request new Contingency Management services to support individuals in recovery.

Oregon's SUD 1115 waiver allows for expanded access to substance use disorder treatment and services through Medicaid, aiming to:
- Improve health outcomes,
- Increase treatment engagement, and
- Reduce emergency and inpatient visits.
