Updated dashboard tracks how insurers serve Medicaid members
Race, ethnicity, language and disability data to help address health inequities
In a continued effort to drive transparency and improvements for Medicaid members, Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is releasing new, detailed data that shows how local health networks serve people in Oregon who have Medicaid insurance. OHA’s CCO Performance Metrics Dashboard is now updated with 2023 data and other enhancements.
The interactive data platform helps track the performance of coordinated care organizations (CCOs), local insurers that receive state funding to coordinate health care for most of the 1.4 million people who are covered by Oregon’s Medicaid program.
The dashboard shows how well CCOs meet dozens of health care quality measures such as prenatal and postpartum care for new parents, depression screening and comprehensive diabetes care. Many of these measures are tracked by the CCO Quality Incentive Program, which aims to improve Oregon Medicaid member health by offering CCOs financial bonuses for meeting specific metrics.
People can use the dashboard to filter data by race, ethnicity, language and disability (REALD). This level of detail can help OHA and CCOs better understand health inequities and partner with community members to address disparities in care.
The dashboard enables users to dive deeper into data that was summarized in the CCO Metrics 2023 Report. Issued in August, the report found CCOs generally improved their performance between 2022 and 2023, with the exception of COVID-19 pandemic-related disruptions continuing to adversely affect immunization rates for children and adolescents. Noted improvements included:
- Increased preventive dental and oral health services for children
- Increased behavioral health care services
- Increased capacity to address social determinants of health
