OHA, public health officers to discuss 2024-2025 respiratory virus season at media briefing Thursday
PORTLAND, Ore. — Infectious disease experts from Oregon Health Authority and Malheur, Harney and Multnomah counties will hold a virtual media briefing at 11 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 19, to discuss the 2024-2025 respiratory virus season.
Melissa Sutton, M.D., OHA Medical Director for Respiratory Viral Pathogens, Sarah Laiosa, M.D., Public Health Officer for Malhuer and Harney counties, and Richard Bruno, M.D., Public Health Officer for Multnomah County, will cover what’s expected during the upcoming season; recent developments in vaccines; and how people can protect themselves and others from measles, COVID-19, influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
