Review what is ending and continuing with the May 2023 end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE): View the May 2023 memo from Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS).
OHA's Transformation Center and Equity & Inclusion Division want to understand what technical assistance providers need to deliver quality interpretation services to people who prefer a language other than English and persons who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
OHA is looking for clinicians, front-line office staff and others who deliver physical, behavioral, or dental health care services to OHP members to talk with them for 25 minutes sometime in July.
Conversation topics will include:
- What state law requires regarding interpretation services
- What happens in your office when interpretation services are requested
- What works well and what challenges you face providing interpretation services
- How the quality of interpretation services affects patient visits
- How you bill for interpretation services
- What specific resources or consultants you would recommend
To find out if your clinic qualifies to help with this needs assessment, please fill out this form, which should take two minutes to complete. Thank you!
For questions, please contact Sarah Wetherson, OHA Senior Medicaid Advisory Committees and Quality Improvement Analyst at sarah.e.wetherson@oha.oregon.gov, 503-793-1920 (text or voice).
Summer EBT is a new grocery benefits program. It helps families buy food for their school-age children during the summer when school is out. Families will get $120 for each eligible child. They receive the benefit in one payment on an Oregon EBT card. School-age children in households participating in SNAP, TANF or OHP are automatically enrolled in Summer EBT and do not need to apply.
Families who expect to be automatically enrolled in Summer EBT may take the following steps starting in July 2024:
- Check your current Oregon EBT card account to see if Summer EBT benefits were added.
- Look for a letter in the mail that confirms your child’s eligibility.
- If you don’t get a Summer EBT letter or benefits by mid-July and think your child is eligible, contact the Summer EBT Call Center at 1-833-673-7328. The Call Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pacific Time.
Some families who are not automatically enrolled still may qualify for Summer EBT and will need to apply. They can learn about eligibility requirements and options for applying at sebt.oregon.gov.
Starting August 1, OHA will only accept the May 2024 Trading Partner Agreement form
Effective Aug. 1, 2024, OHA will no longer accept the July 2017 Trading Partner Agreement (TPA) form (OHA 2080). This means:
- OHA will not process TPAs received on or after August 1 that are on the old form.
- Instead, OHA will deny the TPAs and ask you to resubmit on the current May 2024 form.
This change does not affect current TPAs already set up with Oregon Medicaid or pending TPAs submitted before August 1 and awaiting processing.
Individual Placement Support (IPS) and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) fidelity reviews paused effective July 1, 2024
Effective July 1, 2024, OHA is pausing fidelity reviews until June 30, 2025. This will give OHA time to review fidelity review processes and guidelines for IPS and ACT programs.
