The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) intends to submit the following State Plan Amendments (SPAs) to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services:

  • Add a National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) section to the Medicaid State Plan. This SPA incorporates Oregon Medicaid coverage of National DPP as its own program rather than a benefit available through multiple state plan areas. To learn more, please read the public notice from OHA.
  • Update Oregon’s Medicaid State Plan to allow fee-for-service coverage of non-covered outpatient drugs (including FDA-authorized drug imports) when Oregon pharmacies cannot supply the FDA-approved, non-imported version of the drug product due to a recognized critical drug shortage. To learn more, please read the public notice from OHA.

OHA welcomes public review and input. Please send written comments by 5 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2024, to jesse.anderson@oha.oregon.gov
