- The deadline to submit requests for FEMA Public Assistance has been extended to May 27th, 2024. Local Governments, houses of worship and other non-profit organizations in Benton, Clackamas, Coos, Hood River, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Multnomah, Sherman, Tillamook, Wasco, and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians may apply. Information on the Public Assistance process can be found on the Oregon Severe Winter Storm Public Assistance Webpage.
- The tri-government, multi-agency Incident Management Team concluded the 90-Day Fentanyl Emergency Response on April 29th. The 90-Day Fentanyl Emergency Report can be found on the Fentanyl State of Emergency Website.
Respiratory Illness
There were 3 influenza outbreaks reported this week, 1 influenza-related hospitalization in the Portland tri-county metropolitan area, and 98 (5.0%) of the specimens tested were positive for influenza this week. There were 18 (0.9%) positive RSV tests via PCR testing and 1 (3.6%) via Ag testing from 14 sentinel laboratories the last week of RSV Reports.
On March 30, 2024, Oregon met the criteria for RSV season offset. While RSV continues to circulate at very low levels, clinicians may discontinue offering nirsevimab per CDC recommendations. Infants born during the RSV off-season should begin receiving nirsevimab again in the fall of 2024.

Pacific Power Lebanon Wildfire Customer Forum (June 5, 5:30PM-7:30PM at the Best Western- Boulder Falls Inn in Lebanon, OR).
- Pacific Power is holding a forum to discuss increasing safety and reliability in the community during wildfire season from experts in meteorology, wildfire mitigation and emergency management. Find out how Pacific Power is using advanced forecasting to put them ahead of the weather and their ongoing work to strengthen the electrical grid. Free dinner will be provided.
- Communities Prepared for Disasters (June 11, 10 AM-12 PM; July 9, 10 AM- 12 PM, both Virtual).
- The Oregon Department of Emergency Management is partnering with the Oregon Commission on Hispanic Affairs, Adelante Mujeres, and FEMA to help community- and faith-based organizations serving Spanish-speaking communities better prepare for disasters. This event will be offered primarily in Spanish with English translation and ASL interpreting.

Cumulative Impacts: How Potential Flood Exposures, Resource Access, and Social Vulnerability Affect Resilience Outcomes (June 11, 3-4PM ET, Virtual)
