Sensitivity Labels for most M365 applications

What’s happening

On Monday, Oct. 16, the Oregon Department of Administrative Services (DAS) will require that all state agency employees use Sensitivity Labels when working in Word, Excel and Power Point. This tool will be optional in Outlook. Because of the limited testing that has been done in Outlook, it is recommended that you do not apply Sensitivity Labels to email at this time.

What this means to you

When you open a new document in Word, Excel or PowerPoint you will be required to label the document based on what kind of data the document will contain. When you edit an existing document that has not yet had a Sensitivity Label applied, you will be required to add one.

What are Sensitivity Labels?

Sensitivity Labels are a Microsoft security tool designed to help classify and protect information. The labels ODHS|OHA staff will see correspond with the state data classifications set by DAS in administrative policy 107-004-050.

Changes coming to Barbara Roberts Human Services Building (HSB)

Beginning Oct. 23, a badge scan will be required on elevators and stairwells from the basement or first floor of the Barbara Roberts Human Services Building (HSB) to access upper floors. The ODHSOHA Agency Identification, Badge and Key Card Policy requires that any individual with business that requires them to go beyond the lobby of an ODHS or OHA building display a badge. Visitors to the building will still need an employee escort from the lobby. Those with business in HSB will be issued a temporary badge to allow access to that floor only.

Use this form to change or request badge access and email to Central.Services@odhsoha.oregon.gov.

This change, along with the new in-person security, supports ODHS and OHA alignment with Oregon State Police safety recommendations and on-going agency efforts to support staff. With more staff working remotely, it’s important that we take additional steps to support the security of on-site staff.

Set up a personalized job interest notification

Interested in advancing your career at Oregon Health Authority?

One way is to make sure your Career Profile in Workday is up to date. You can upload your resume to get you started. Read the job aid and update your profile.

Once your profile is updated, you can set up job interest notifications that will alert you of openings that match your preferences. The information you entered into your Career Profile will auto populate, making it easy to apply.

Join the People of Color Employee Resource Group for a Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the People of Color Employee Resource Group (POC ERG) invites you to celebrate our Latin roots on Thursday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s theme is Uplifting Latine Voices y Celebrando Nuestra Cultura.

This celebration will feature presentations on the Hispanic Origins in Oregon, a Behavioral Health panel, a documentary on indigenous perinatal wellness, questions and answers, a trivia game, and live music.

Weekly community of practice meetings about behavioral health equity

The Equity and Inclusion Division’s Behavioral Health Equity Program is excited to announce weekly community of practice meetings. These meetings will be a space to collaborate across divisions, support equity advocates and collectively assess and enhance the implementation of behavioral health policies through an equity lens.
