REMINDER: Virtual media briefing today on respiratory virus season

PORTLAND, Ore. — Infectious disease experts will discuss the 2023-2024 respiratory virus season during a virtual media briefing at 11 a.m. today (Thursday, Sept. 21).

Speakers will include:

Paul Cieslak, M.D., Oregon Health Authority medical director for communicable diseases and immunizations.
Katie Sharff, M.D., chief of infectious disease at Kaiser Permanente Northwest.

The physicians will share their expectations for the coming virus season; cover recent developments in vaccines; and discuss how people can protect themselves and others from COVID-19, influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
