Make Filing Your SEI Easier! |
Do you report any business under questions 1A or 1B on the SEI? Last year, the legislature passed HB 2038 which added some new requirements for those of you who report businesses in question 1A or 1B. If you have a client that contributes 10% or more of your business' gross annual income AND they have a legislative or administrative interest you will now need to list them as a client.
Some of you may have clients who you are required to keep confidential. In those cases you are required to ask them if you can include their information in your SEI. If they say you can, awesome! Add their information to the client section of 1A or 1B respectively. Regardless of what their answer is you will need to sign that you asked.
So, even though you can't begin filing your SEI until March 15th (next Friday) you can make filing your SEI easier by figuring out who you need to request permission from and sending them a request now. This will make the process go smoother and quicker for everyone!
