RE: Share your practices on Oregon’s Personalized Learning Requirements

Dear Colleagues,

The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is seeking the unique expertise, skillset, and perspective of middle and high school counselors to share their school’s strengths, needs, and advising practices on Oregon’s Personalized Learning Requirements (PLRs).

Oregon’s Personalized Learning Requirements include the Education Plan and Profile (i.e., Personalized Education Plan), Career Related Learning Experiences, and the Extended Application. These three elements provide schools and districts with structure as they support students in aligning their academic and postsecondary planning with their personal interests and goals.

As part of ODE’s strategic plan, we are gathering examples of PLR practices and materials from a variety of districts across the state. This information will be used to publish updated guidance and resources to support PLR implementation. Whether your school has well-established PLR practices or is continuing to develop its approach, your perspective can help inform this work.

We invite you to partner with ODE on Oregon's PLRs:

  • Take the survey: Share your school’s approach, advising practices, and offer examples via this link.
  • Join an engagement session: Connect at one of the virtual sessions to exchange ideas, share your school’s successes, learn what other schools are doing, and take the survey.

Thank you for being willing to share your school’s practices. We look forward to hearing from you!
