March 15-21 is National Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Week!
The USDA's CACFP is a federal program that brings healthy foods to tables across the country for children in child care centers, homes, and afterschool programs as well as adults in day care. Each day, 3.3 million children receive nutritious meals and snacks through CACFP. The program also provides meals and snacks to 120,000 adults who receive care in nonresidential adult day care centers. CACFP reaches even further to provide meals to children residing in emergency shelters, and snacks and suppers to youths participating in eligible afterschool care programs. Learn more about this program on the USDA Webpage.
The National CACFP Association has many different resources and fun opportunities to join in on the celebration!
ODE Farm to CNP thanks our CACFP NCRG grantees for going the extra mile to bring Oregon grown and produced foods to the children and adults they feed.
