Noncompetitive Reimbursement Grant (NCRG)

All eligible NSLP, CACFP, and SFSP CNP sponsors were automatically opted in to receive a Noncompetitive Reimbursement Grant for the 2025-2027 biennium (July 1, 2025-June 30, 2027).

The grant’s start date is retroactive and claims can be submitted for items purchased back to July 1, 2025.

Adequate spending benchmark - Dec, 30, 2025: Grantees were expected to have claimed a minimum of 25% of their award by December 30, 2025, to demonstrate adequate use of funds as outlined in the NCRG grant agreement and supporting resources. The Farm to CNP team will be contacting sponsors who have not met this benchmark via email with their next steps.

Optional Monthly Office Hours: The Farm to CNP team is hosting optional virtual monthly office hours on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Drop in on January 14th between 2-3pm to ask questions and get answers to all things NCRG! The office hours can be joined on Zoom via this link: https://www.zoomgov.com/j/1618818788

Resource spotlight: The 2024-2025 Farm to CNP Combined Claims File is live on the NCRG webpage! The Farm to CNP Reimbursement Grant Combined Claims Excel file is a list of eligible purchases made by other grantees during the previous grant period. The list can be sorted by county, product, vendor, etc.

When Podcasts Collide: The School Garden Podcast Crossover Event

School garden podcast

It’s a full-on garden geek crossover episode with the crew from the School Garden Podcast. More stories, more laughter, more accidental loofah explosions… and probably at least one debate about which state grows the sassiest school gardeners. Grab your trowel, hydrate, and settle in, this episode is about to bloom in every direction.

You can listen to the episode here.

From Heat-and-Serve to “Jedi-Level” Scratch Cooking: A Kitchen Transformation Story

Greg Christian

Hear from Greg Christian how scratch cooking, kitchen “swarming,” and a whole lot of heart can transform cafeterias from stressed-out heat-and-serve hubs into joyful, efficient, good-food machines. Greg shares stories from the front lines of school kitchen makeovers, why cutting broccoli together can fix more than just lunch, and how real leadership (the kind that listens, laughs, and lets people shine) is the secret ingredient to lasting change. Pull up a tray! This one’s equal parts wisdom, wonder, and wildly good food.

You can listen to the episode here.
