Re: Coming Soon: 2026 State Summer Learning Grants

Dear Education Leaders,

The Oregon Department of Education is excited to announce that the 2026-28 State Summer Learning Grant Request for Applications (RFA) will open in mid-January 2026. These competitive grants will support high-quality, research-aligned summer programs designed to accelerate academic growth, with a focus on literacy and fostering student belonging, enrichment, and holistic development

What to Expect

Eligible applicants include school districts, ESDs, public charter schools, Tribes, and any combination thereof.
Programs must provide at least 80 continuous hours of in-person learning and include evidence-based literacy practices.
Awards may be up to $1,000,000 per year, based on need and program scope.

Full details—including eligibility, application requirements, and scoring criteria—will be shared in early January. In the meantime, please mark your calendars and visit the Summer Learning Webpage or email ODE.summerlearning@ode.oregon.gov.
