Welcome to the December School Medicaid Newsletter! As we close out the year, we wanted to acknowledge the ongoing work you all do to support children, families, and school communities through the School Based Health Services (SBHS) Medicaid program. This newsletter highlights an upcoming training opportunity specifically for Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE) programs. We encourage you to review the information below and share it with colleagues who support Medicaid billing, service delivery, and coordination across birth-to-five settings.
Medicaid Training for Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education Programs
The Oregon Department of Education (ODE), the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), and ecWeb have collaborated to develop training specifically for Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE) programs to provide clear and consistent guidance on Medicaid billing in the birth-to-five setting.
Participants will receive a high-level overview of Medicaid, learn which EI/ECSE services are billable, learn about written notification and parent consent requirements, and gain step-by-step instruction on billing within ecWeb. The session also addresses common misconceptions and outlines best practices to support accurate and efficient billing. The overarching goal is to strengthen EI/ECSE billing and promote a shared understanding of Medicaid processes across all roles involved.
Intended Audiences: EI/ECSE program staff, EI/ECSE SBHS Recognized Providers, and EI/ECSE Medicaid Coordinators.
Registration Information:
We are pleased to offer two different dates for this training. Please register below.
