Informational Update: June Aligned Message

Congratulations to the Class of 2025, and great thanks to districts, staff, and communities for your dedication to Oregon students.

Additional thanks to districts, schools, and ESD staff for the submission of Integrated Applications. Through the month of May, ODE has continued to review Integrated Applications, follow-up with applicants as needed, and approve plans. To date, we are 72% complete on the initial review of Integrated Applications. 

In this month’s message, you’ll find information about:

Reminder - Updated Requirements for FSI Progress Updates and School-Level Improvement Plans

Repeated posting of information shared in the May message.

Changes are bulleted below, full details in Federal School Improvement (CSI/TSI) Progress Updates & School-level Improvement Plans guidance.

  • Progress Updates: Only schools identified as “eligible to exit” using data from the 2024-25 school year will be contacted to complete the Progress Update. This will occur in late summer/early fall. 
  • School-level Improvement Plans: School leaders will collaborate with district staff to connect their school to the submitted strategies in the Integrated Application. School -level Improvement Plans will be submitted during Quarter 1 reporting, 

New Resource from ODE

We are excited to release the Strengthening Early Indicator & Intervention Systems: A Toolkit for Practitioners. This toolkit is offered to school, district and ESD teams as you strengthen systems around student supports, gather and analyze holistic data, monitor progress and develop shared student-centered mindsets.

Reminder: The 24-25 ODE Professional Learning Opportunities website lists all professional development opportunities provided by ODE. Also the EII Technical Assistance, Professional Learning and Coaching calendar is now available to track EII specific TA, PL, and other coaching opportunities.

CTE News

The Gervais HS Food Truck is on a Roll! The Gervais High School Culinary Arts CTE program has recently launched a food truck as part of  their 2023-25 CTE Revitalization Grant. The food truck, which is outfitted with professional grade kitchen equipment, will provide students with hands-on experience in food preparation, customer service, small business operation, and create opportunities to connect with the community. CTE Student Advisory Council Launches Newsletter: The CTE Student Advisory Council has just released Volume 1 of its "CTE Students in Action" newsletter. The Council's hope through this communication is to empower high school and college students across Oregon to spread awareness of CTE and increase engagement and student leadership. Annual Report Due Date September 30, 2025

The 24-25 Annual Report for both Integrated Programs and Early Literacy has been moved to September 30, 2025. This will help to close out the 23-25 biennium and ensure expenditure reporting is better aligned to the close of the fiscal year. The 24-25 Annual Report guidance and access to the appropriate smartsheet links will be available on July 1, 2025. Reminder that the Integrated Programs Annual Report includes a requirement of presentation to your School Board with Board Minutes submitted to ODE.

Reminder: The Required Monthly Submission and Reporting Calendar lists all required school district submissions for the 2024-25 school year.
