CTE Bright Spots:
Gervais HS Food Truck is on a Roll!
The Gervais High School Culinary Arts CTE program has recently launched a food truck, aligned with their 2023-25 CTE Revitalization Grant.
The food truck, which is outfitted with professional grade kitchen equipment, will provide students with hands-on experience in food preparation, customer service, and small business operation, and create opportunities to connect with the community.

CTE Student Advisory Council Launches Newsletter
The CTE Student Advisory Council has just released Volume 1 of its "CTE Students in Action" newsletter. The Council's hope through this communication is to empower high school and college students across the state to spread awareness of CTE and increase engagement and student leadership.

Application Deadline Approaches:
2025-26 CTE Student Advisory Council
Students interested in helping shape the future of Career and Technical Education in Oregon can apply for the CTE Student Advisory Council for the 2025-26 school year. Students or recent graduates from high school or community college are welcome to apply.
Benefits of Council membership include leadership experience and professional development, networking opportunities, and contributing your voice in state decisions regarding CTE.
Application Deadline: May 14, 2025
(Applications will be accepted after the deadline if openings are available.)

The ACTE Impact Awards recognize groups and individuals from the education, business, and industry communities that enhance career and technical education by contributing to the improvement, promotion, development, and progress of CTE. While there is no membership eligibility restriction for applicants, all must be nominated by an ACTE member.
All nominations must be submitted on the ACTE Awards Portal by June 30, 2025.

The Horatio Alger Association National Career and Technical Education Scholarship Program offers 300 scholarships at $2,500 each for students demonstrating financial need and completing high school (or earning high school equivalency credential) by July 1, and planning to attend a not-for-profit community college or trade/vocational school by September with an intention to pursue and complete an associate degree, certificate, or diploma program that will lead to employment.
(Additional eligibility requirements apply.)
Deadline to apply is June 15, 2025.

Help spread the good word about CTE--even during the summer--by submitting stories to the #ThisIsCTE social media campaign.
By submitting photos, videos, and/or social media content highlighting exciting things students are doing in CTE programs across the state, you can support the campaign's goal to promote awareness of career and technical education and its many positive impacts for students, schools, and communities.
Use this form to submit #ThisIsCTE items throughout the year.
